Arts/EXCEL informational meeting will be May 21, 2013
TCESC will hold an informational meeting for parents on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the TCESC office. Arts/EXCEL is a creative and performing arts program that students attend 20 Fridays during the school year. Participating students develop their skills in the areas of visual art, dance, drama, instrumental or vocal music. For complete information about Arts/EXCEL, click here.
TVLA Summer school registration is open
Students who are registered in a school district in Trumbull County may elect to participate in summer school classes offered through the Trumbull Virtual Learning Academy. Our courses are all online, giving students the benefit of working at their own pace, when and where they want. Registration is open from May 20, 2013, through June 14, 2013. Equations winners announced

·         TCESC held an Equations competition for approximately 250 students in grades 5-8 on Monday, May 6, 201e. Equations is a comprehensive mathematics game that combines problem-solving interaction with strategy, bluffing and intrigue. Congratulations to the following school districts who had teams placing in the top three spots in each age division: Fifth grade: Lakeview, Weathersfield & Weathersfield; Sixth Grade: Lakeview, Weathersfield & Hubbard; Seventh & Eighth Grade: Weathersfield, Weathersfield & Lakeview.
TCESC & YSU offer reading endorsement program
TCESC & YSU will offer a reading endorsement cohort. Applications are currently being accepted for the cohort (total of 25 individuals). Applications are due June 1, 2013 and coursework will begin in the summer of 2013. For complete information and application materials, click here.
Concussion awareness training now required for pupil activity permits

A new Ohio law requires additional concussion awareness training for coaches seeking pupil activity permits. Beginning April 26, recently passed return-to-play legislation requires any applicant for a new or renewal pupil activity (coaching) permit from the Ohio Department of Education to complete specific training on recognizing the signs and symptoms of concussions and head injuries as well as brain injury management. TCESC offers screening interviews to new graduates

TCESC is a resource that some districts use in their search for teacher candidates. As part of our service to the districts, TCESC offers screening interviews to potential teaching candidates.
