RFP for computer workstations and laptop systems
The Trumbull County Educational Service Center (TCESC) is accepting proposals for the purchase of computer workstations and laptop systems. Sealed proposals must be submitted to the Trumbull County Educational  Service Center, 6000 Youngstown-Warren Rd, Niles, OH 44446-4603 by  Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00AM. Mail or deliver four copies of the proposals in a sealed envelope marked “PROPOSAL—Computer workstations and laptop systems”. Facsimiles will not be accepted. E-mails will not be accepted. Verbal bids will not be accepted.

TCESC attended the Kent State University teacher recruitment fair and the Northeast Ohio Teacher Education Day in Akron to interview and recruit teachers from 12 Northeast Ohio colleges and universities.

TCESC celebrates 33rd annual Civic Day
TCESC celebrates 2018 Civic Day Approximately 80 Trumbull County students and 45 community leaders gathered at DiVieste's in Warren to celebrate the 33rd annual Civic Day on March 9. The TCESC sponsored event pairs students with government officials, business leaders and educators. This year, TCESC proudly welcomed Trumbull County Probate Court Judge James Fredericka, who spoke to the crowd about the importance of public service.
TCESC preschool students visit OH WOW!
TCESC preschool visits OH WOW! Students in one of our preschool classrooms learned more about the world around them during a recent field trip to OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science & Technology.  TCESC preschool teacher Karen Cunningham says the hands-on environment encouraged her students to thinking independently as they explored the interactive STEM-based exhibits.

Howland student wins TCESC spelling bee
Howland student wins TCESC spelling bee

A 6th grader from Howland Local Schools claimed victory at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center's annual spelling bee.  Brian Burkey Jr. was the last student standing in this year's competition after correctly spelling "carbonate".  Students, representing all 20 Trumbull County public schools, traveled to Hubbard High School on Wednesday, Feb. 28, to compete for first place.  The spellers secured their spots in the bee by winning at their respective schools. 

 

 

Liberty Local Schools wins junior high prep bowl
Liberty Local finishes first at junior high prep bowl
Prep bowl teams, representing 20 Trumbull County school districts, gathered at Lordstown High School to compete in TCESC's annual junior high prep bowl competition.  Students from Liberty Local Schools finished first in the academic event. Champion Local Schools placed second. Earlier this year, TCESC hosted the high school and elementary school competitions.  Mathews won the high school division.  Howland won the elementary competition.
Administrators gather for HB 410 panel discussion
Administrators gather for HB 410 panel discussion School administrators gathered at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center for a panel discussion regarding House Bill 410.  In 2016, the Ohio General Assembly passed House Bill 410, which aims to reduce excessive absences and truancy. At the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, districts were prohibited from suspending or expelling students for missing too much school.  House Bill 410 calls on schools to develop plans that identify and reduce barriers to regular school attendance. TCESC hosts annual leadership academy
Kirk Hamilton with the Buckeye Association of School Administrators presenting at TCESC TCESC hosted its annual leadership academy for all Trumbull County school board members and superintendents on Thursday, Feb. 8. School board ethics, conflicts of interest and the roles and responsibilities of a school board were the focus of this year's professional development, which was made possible by our featured speakers from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators and the Ennis Britton Law Firm.
