TCESC offers new STEAM Excel program

STEAM Excel is a newly-expanded cooperative student program created by TCESC. STEAM Excel offers students the opportunity to explore the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. The program began in September with 96 students from 18 Trumbull County school districts participating.  STEAM Excel focuses on supporting the development of 21st century skills such as critical and creative thinking, collaboration and communication. TCESC & YSU offer College Credit Plus Workshop
TCESC & Youngstown State University are offering a College Credit Plus workshop on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Administrators from Northeast Ohio are welcome to attend. This professional development session will provide information about Ohio's new dual enrollment program that allows students in grades 7-12 to earn high school and college credit. Key points of discussion will be tuition, textbooks and college fees, student eligibility and admission and creating pathways.  Click here to register before Monday, October, 27, 2014.
RESA Facilitator training is available

Facilitators who will assist candidates taking the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) this year are required to complete a three-hour online training program that is now open. ODE suggests facilitators take the training as soon as possible because it will help them prepare candidates for upcoming assessment tasks. Participants will need to log into the training and set up an account. Complete information about RESA facilitator training is available here

TCESC is holding physical health and wellness sessions for students
TCESC is sponsoring Hello to Health physical health and wellness sessions for Trumbull County students.  The sessions will be held the second Saturday of every month throughout the 2014-2015 school year. There are separate sessions for grades K-6 and 7-12. Registration is required. Click here for a flyer with more details.
TCESC seeks new substitutes
TCESC operates 43 cooperative special education classrooms throughout Trumbull County. We are always seeking substitute teachers and substitute aides to work in these classrooms. Individuals who are interested in substituting should begin the process of applying for a license and completing requirements as soon as possible to begin substituting early in the school year.  If you are interested in substituting in a TCESC classroom, please click here to access information about becoming a substitute teacher or substitute aide.
