The Trumbull County Educational Service Center (TCESC) and the Trumbull Career & Technical Center (TCTC) celebrated the grand opening of the Dronepreneurs Program Lab on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at TCTC.
The groundbreaking program will equip students with skills in drone technology and entrepreneurship, creating new opportunities for young innovators in Trumbull County. Students will gain hands-on experience and essential tools to thrive in the rapidly growing drone industry.
Former Congressman Tim Ryan, a key figure in securing federal funding for the initiative, attended the event as a special guest. His support, along with the collaborative efforts of TCESC and TCTC, helped bring this innovative program to life.
"It's our job as adults to have the power to help kids do something great," said Ryan.
"As we've seen in recent headlines, drones are becoming essential in various industries, from search and rescue operations to business applications. I’m proud that Trumbull County is at the forefront, preparing our students for success in this rapidly growing field," said TCESC Superintendent Michael Hanshaw.

The funding for this program was a part of the $650,000.00 grant the TCESC received in 2023 that also developed a middle and high school drone program made available to our Trumbull County districts and enhanced the Trumbull County Drone Racing League.
