It Takes a Community
CADANCE CARE 2
Trumbull County school counselors representing 15 districts met this morning with the Chief Operating Officer of Cadence Care Network, Nikunj Patel, at the TCESC as a part of the monthly school counselor meeting. Cadence Care services over 600 Trumbull County students in their school social work program. Today’s conversation with Patel focused on OhioRISE (Ohio Resiliency through Integrated Systems of Excellence), a reimagined Medicaid system and structure of services to better serve children and youth with complex behavioral health needs and their families/caregivers.

“Getting in front of these counselors creates connection and creativity in a new way. Today’s problems are not individual; they are community problems; you can’t take it as an individual community, agency, or parent to deal with what these kids are facing. These counselors had great questions and thoughts, which is encouraging and teaches us how to continue to grow and work together and provides hope”, Nikunj Patel, Cadence Care Network, COO.

Cadence Care Network began in 1990 with the goal of working with local children’s services boards to provide treatment foster care placement for youth in county custody. Over the years, it established a solid base of foster homes while also expanding behavioral health services to children, teenagers, families, and adults in need of therapeutic support.
