37th Annual Civic Day
Civic Day 2
The Trumbull County Educational Service Center hosted the 37th Annual Civic Day, on Friday, March 31st, at the DiVieste Banquet Center. The event, which highlighted the importance of civic duties, brought together 20 Trumbull County School districts, over 100 students, and multiple civic officials from Trumbull County.

The keynote speaker of the event was Col. Jeff Van Dootingh, commander of the 910th Airlift Wing Youngstown Air Reserve Station. With over 30 years of distinguished service in his career, Col. Van Dootingh provided a unique perspective on civic duties and their role. He also shared his valuable experiences and insights with the students to motivate and encourage them to be more responsible citizens.

The day began with the students being paired with their assigned civic leaders to discuss the importance of civic duties and their impact on the community. The students were then brought together for lunch to hear Col. Van Dootingh's keynote address.

The day's objective was to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the responsibilities associated with civic duties and their impact on the community. The event was a huge success in achieving its objective, as the students learned about the significance of their roles as active members of society.

Col. Van Dootingh's impressive career included being an instructor navigator, flight safety officer and holding numerous leadership positions in the Air Force Reserve. His expertise and insights were well-received by the students, and his address served as a source of inspiration for the next generation of civic leaders.
