YSU Student Teachers Meet Trumbull County Districts
YSU STUDENT TEACHERS

On Friday, January 6th, the Trumbull County Educational Service Center hosted over 70 student-teacher candidates from Youngstown State University. These future educators went through seminars on technology, interviewing skills, and differentiation in the classroom. New for this year's conference was a networking seminar where the students were able to meet with 14 Trumbull County public school districts.

"We are thrilled to host these talented and dedicated student teachers at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center; what a fantastic opportunity for these students and our districts to meet and collaborate," said Robert Marino, Assistant Superintendent of the Trumbull County Educational Service Center. "There has never been a better time to enter the education field."

The second half of the day focused on state-mandated child abuse and neglect-based learning. Jessica Williams, Supervisor with Trumbull County Children Service Intake Department, said educating these incoming students is very important because not all abuse is visible. "This gives the students knowledge of what abuse could look like and better opens their eyes when working with families. We tell them if they ever have a student they may be worried about and don't have concrete evidence, still reach out so we can better make that determination."
