Supporting Hearing for Learning and Communication
The Trumbull County Educational Service Center (TCESC) Educational Audiologists deliver hearing evaluation and management services for Trumbull County children—from birth through high school—through in-school partnerships.

What Our Audiologists Do
Comprehensive Hearing Evaluations
Identify and monitor hearing loss to inform support plans.
Educational Guidance
Coach parents and teachers on how hearing loss can impact learning and daily communication.
Technology Recommendations
Advise on care and maintenance of hearing aids; Recommend, fit and manage hearing assistive technology for the classroom suited to each student’s needs.
Device Training
Provide instruction for students and school staff on the proper classroom use of hearing assistive technology.
Collaborative Classroom Support
Participate in multidisciplinary teams to assist in program placement decisions and to support classroom strategies for students with hearing loss.
Acoustic Environment Evaluations
Assess classroom acoustics and recommend improvements to optimize listening conditions.
Referrals to Community and Medical Resources
Guide families to external supports when additional evaluation or services are needed.
How Audiology Services Are Provided
Audiology services are integrated into the child’s educational plan and are arranged through the student’s local school district. If you have concerns regarding your child’s hearing, please contact your child’s school speech-language pathologist or the TCESC Speech, Language & Audiology Department.
