Trumbull Student Assistance Consortium

Trumbull Student Assistance Consortium

Trumbull Student Assistance Consortium (TSAC) is comprised of all Trumbull County School districts that pool their Safe and Drug Free School (Title IV) funds to provide prevention and services to address safe and drug free school issues in member districts.

Safe and Drug Free School issues encompass a variety of topics including:

  • School safety
  • Weapons in schools
  • Drug & alcohol prevention
  • Bullying
  • Tobacco prevention
  • Sexual harassment


Services
TSAC works to meet the individual needs of participating school districts including: 

  • Providing or coordinating assemblies for parents. 
  • Helping develop student assistance programs.
  • Increasing the effectiveness of systems used to identify at-risk students.
  • Collaborating with community agencies and programs to provide and improve services for Trumbull County youth.
  • Consulting with students, families, school administrators and guidance counselors regarding student assistance and Safe and Drug Free School issues.

TSAC provides intervention and prevention programs including:

  • Truancy Intervention and Prevention Program
  • Anger Management Program
  • Anger Management Program
  • Positive Connections Program 
  • Drug and Alcohol School Policy Violation Intervention and Prevention Program
  • Tobacco School Policy Violation Intervention and Prevention Program


Professional Development

TSAC provides staff development for teachers and guidance counselors. In service topics include:

  • Identifying at-risk youth.
  • Identifying sexual harassment in schools.
  • Using and teaching conflict resolution and mediation skills in the classroom 

TSAC provides access to violence, drug and alcohol prevention curriculum for schools and maintains a curriculum/video/book library for consortium teachers.
