Trumbull County Educators Safety & Violence Prevention Online Training
This online training workshop is available at no cost to Trumbull County educators only. This includes educators from the following school districts: Bloomfield-Mespo, Bristol, Brookfield, Champion, Girard, Howland, Hubbard, Joseph Badger, LaBrae, Lakeview, Liberty, Lordstown, Maplewood, Mathews, McDonald, Newton Falls, Niles, Southington, Trumbull Career & Technical Center, Weathersfield, and Warren.
Participants must have access to the internet and an active email account in order to complete the online workshop. Educators will create a login in Schoology. When creating a Schoology account, please register as a student. Educators can access Schoology from the link in the column on the right of this page.
Participants must possess the access code for the course. This access code is provided to Trumbull County administrators. Educators should contact their building administrators for the access key.
After participants have created an account and entered the access code and created an account, they can enter the course by clicking on the Courses dropdown menu at the top of the page.
The workshop consists of several modules with a short quiz at the end of each module. When the quiz is completed, participants must click the submit button at the bottom of the page. Participants will be able to view a grade on the quiz. The training is not completed until every quiz is completed and a score of 80 percent or higher is achieved.
According to Ohio law (House Bill 288), in-service training regarding child sexual abuse must be provided by a law enforcement officer or prosecutor with experience in handling cases involving child sexual abuse or child sexual violence. This course does not meet that requirement. (There is only a brief mention of child sexual abuse in the child abuse module.) Educators should be aware that school districts will require them to participate in additional training in order to meet the legal requirement.
Upon completion of the course, a certificate of completion is automatically generated and emailed to the participant. Please ensure that the correct email is entered.
