Trumbull Virtual Learning Academy (TVLA) is an educational option available through the TCESC that provides a web-based curriculum aligned with the Ohio Common Core Content Standards. TVLA offers services to meet many different student needs for students in grades 7-12. Learning can take place anywhere with an internet connection and courses are available online 24/7.
TVLA courses are taught by highly qualified credentialed teachers hired by TCESC to ensure they meet all requirements.
Educational Options
- Alternative School Option
The TVLA Alternative School Option is available to Trumbull County school districts. The program combines on-line coursework with on-site academic support. An instructor is available during bi-weekly evening tutoring sessions in the TCESC computer lab. Students also receive individual support services and may choose to participate in Trumbull Student Assistance Consortium programs, which include drug/alcohol prevention, anger management, bullying prevention and truancy. Students are referred through their guidance office or building administrator and remain enrolled in their home school district.
- Credit Recovery Option

The Credit Recovery Option is a fee-based program available for students who need to make-up credits in order to meet their school district's graduation requirements. Each course is 8 weeks long, and students can enroll at any time during the school year.
Summer School
TCESC's TVLA offers online summer school courses for students in Trumbull County, taught by local teachers. Students can use Summer School to recover credits, advance or supplement their education.
