Deaf Education Services Mission

To individualize the educational needs of hard of hearing and deaf children through a respect for both the hearing and the deaf cultures and the use of English and American Sign languages. Teachers who are deaf education specialists travel throughout school districts in Trumbull County and surrounding counties or they educate students in an intensive deaf education classroom.

  • Students are provided with strategies to compensate for hearing loss in a classroom setting.
  • Parents receive detailed progress reports regarding student achievement on a regular basis.
  • The program places an emphasis on developing study skills for optimum student performance.
